What’s in a name?

January 24, 2010

Lincoln Eats is a fine name…but it’s not just what we wanted. So we’re turning to you, our readers to help us out!

Between now and Feb. 15, send in or post your ideas for a better name. The winner will get 1 dozen home-baked cookies from Lincoln Eats author Karma Metzler Fitzgerald once a month for the remainder of the year.

Put on your thinkin’ caps and help us come up with a name that captures the spirit and lifestyle of Lincoln County and its culinary history!

The fine print: While the winner of the contest will get credit on-line and in print for coming up with the name, Karma Metzler Fitzgerald will own the name and the copyright to it. The winner of the contest will get no financial payment for the name now or in the future.

Welcome to Lincoln County Eats

January 24, 2010

This is a culinary history of Lincoln County. Throughout the next year, we’ll be collecting the stories, photos and recipes that have made Lincoln County the great place it is.

Whether your family has lived here a few years or the better part of the last century, you have a story to tell. Perhaps you have a family recipe to share. Maybe you’d like us to find the recipe for a meal you’ve enjoyed at one of our local restaurants? (Fries and gravy at the Manhattan?? Bread pudding at the Eagles Nest??)

We want to collect not only the rich diverse history of this county — but the food enjoyed while building this great county!

You can get involved by contributing story ideas, recipes and photos to this site. Just click on “How to get involved” on your right!
